A cap from the University of Massachusetts Nursing.
A University of Massachusetts Nursing cap is now on display. The Museum of Nursing History is pleased to share with our website viewers and museum visitors, the 1970s-era cap from the University of Massachusetts. The addition of this cap brings the total number of caps on display to eighty-five!
The black velvet band was applied upon graduation and K-Y jelly was used to secure the ribbon to the cap. Nurses are always so ingenious and creative in their problem solving.
The University of Massachusetts consists of five campuses within the public university system of the commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The Museum of Nursing History honors the tradition of preserving the articles, documents and other artifacts of nursing throughout history. To read more about nursing history, click here. To check out more of our nursing caps collection — of more than 85 caps — click here.
