PETER BENT BRIGHAM HOSPITAL SON PIN WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE MEANING

Carrie Hall
The beautiful pin of Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing is now displayed at the Museum of Nursing History. This donation has an explanation of the meaning of the embossed symbols found on the pin. The school was established in 1913 in the County of Suffolk, MA.
Carrie M. Hall was the superintendent and first principal of the school of Nursing (1912-1937). She interrupted her service to the hospital and school to serve in WWI. This military service lasted two and half years for which she was honored with several citations.
The Peter Bent Brigham Hospital records have been opened and available on the internet for research. The contributions and accomplishments of Miss Hall can be found in these records.
